A diligent search letter, or DSL, is a fillable form that is required for all non-admitted policies. It shows that you tried to place an insured's risk in the admitted market and that they were denied. In other words, the DSL documents the rejection and the insured’s eligibility to place the risk in the non-admitted market. The exact requirements will differ for each state, but you can check your state's compliance website for specifics.
For all non-admitted risks, the DSL is required prior to binding coverage. Please ensure that the completed and signed form is included with the other binding requirements.
To report a claim, you can send an email to GUSclaims@rtspecialty.com.
As a Managing General Agency, we don’t typically investigate claims ourselves. Rather, we facilitate notifications to the insuring carrier. For the fastest claim handling, you may contact the Insurance Company directly. Claim reporting information can typically be found on the Declarations page on the insured’s policy.
Logins are intended for our retail agency partners. An agency must be enrolled with RT Specialty and have an active Agency Code. Ideally, each user will have their own login – not only for security, but for ease in delivering online quotes or form confirmation emails.
If you need assistance, please contact agencyadministration@ryansg.com. When emailing the team, please provide your RT Specialty agency code (provided at the time of agency enrollment).

When submitting your agency onboarding documents, please indicate in your email that you want to do business with the RT Specialty – Seattle office (formerly known as Griffin Underwriting Services).
